Fenek is an AI app for kids aged 8–12 that is still in development. This site collects sign-ups for the waitlist and helps us learn whether parents need an app like this. Below we explain what data we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is [CONTROLLER NAME], [ADDRESS], [COMPANY / TAX ID – if applicable] (“we”). We are based in the European Union, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to all data we process, including data of visitors from the United States.
2. Contact
For any privacy question, email us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. We have not appointed a data protection officer.
3. What we collect
- Form data: your email address, your answers (your child’s age range, whether your child uses AI, how much you’d pay for the app, what matters most to you) and your consent choices. If you agree to take part in a research call, you can also give us your phone number. We don’t ask for your child’s name, exact age or any other information about your child.
- Visit data attached to your sign-up: page language, market (PL/US), campaign parameters (UTM), Meta ad click ID (fbclid), referring page, device type (mobile/desktop), time on page, scroll depth, headline version, which button you clicked, an event ID and the time of sign-up.
- Data collected by analytics tools – only with your consent (section 6).
Providing data is voluntary. Without an email address and consent to be contacted, we can’t add you to the waitlist.
4. Why we use it and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Adding you to the waitlist and contacting you about Fenek’s launch (including an invitation to a call) | Your consent – Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Contacting you about a 15-minute research call (by phone or email) and sending the gift card for taking part (only if you tick that box) | Your consent – Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Sending marketing emails (only if you tick that box) | Your consent – Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Analyzing form answers to assess demand and pricing (aggregated reports) | Our legitimate interest – Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Measuring ad performance (Meta Pixel) and site usage (Microsoft Clarity) | Your consent – Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims | Our legitimate interest – Art. 6(1)(f) |
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us (section 2), and change your cookie choice via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing that happened before.
5. How long we keep it
We keep form data until the end of the product validation period (planned for [November 2, 2026]) plus 6 months, i.e. no later than [May 2, 2027], unless you withdraw consent earlier. If Fenek launches and you’d like to keep hearing from us, we’ll ask you separately. Data needed to defend legal claims may be kept until the claims expire.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Analytics and advertising tools load only after you click “Accept” in the banner. If you click “Reject”, the site and the sign-up form work as usual.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) – measures whether visits and sign-ups come from our Facebook and Instagram ads. Cookies include
_fbpand_fbc(up to 90 days). We are joint controllers with Meta for collecting and transmitting this data; Meta’s further processing is described in the Meta Privacy Policy. - Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) – heatmaps and session recordings that show how the page is used (e.g. where people stop reading). Text typed into form fields is masked. Cookies include
_clck(up to 1 year) and_clsk(1 day). Microsoft Privacy Statement. - Browser storage (strictly necessary): we store your cookie choice (
localStorage) and, for one visit only, campaign parameters and form progress (sessionStorage). Nothing leaves your browser until you submit the form.
7. Who we share it with
We use providers that process data on our behalf (processors) or as separate controllers:
- Vercel Inc. (USA) – website hosting,
- n8n GmbH (Germany, n8n Cloud) – passing sign-ups to our spreadsheet and sending emails,
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC – storing the waitlist in Google Sheets [and sending emails via Gmail – if applicable],
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. – ad measurement (only with consent),
- Microsoft Corporation – Microsoft Clarity (only with consent),
- [TO DECIDE: Calendly LLC (USA) – if you book a call, Calendly processes the details you enter].
We don’t sell your personal information and don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the ad measurement described above, which runs only with your consent.
8. International transfers
Some providers (Vercel, Google, Meta, Microsoft[, Calendly]) may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict processing, receive it in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority – our lead authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland (uodo.gov.pl). If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, you can exercise the corresponding rights by emailing us.
We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal effects.
10. Children
This site is intended for parents and guardians (adults). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 – we only ask for your child’s age range, with no details that could identify them.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page with a new date.
